Packing light but still want to feel polished? A capsule wardrobe isn’t the only thing worth planning — your holiday makeup bag deserves the same thought.
You can still keep it simple, stylish and perfectly suited to you, but without the weight!
Multi-Tasking Products
Cosmetic products which work twice as hard are always on my packing list. Cream blush that doubles as a lip tint? Tick. A highlighter that works as subtle eyeshadow? That’ll do, thank you. Just a few of my faves I packed on my last trip away, and all by Colour me Beautiful too! Browse the cosmetic range online
My advice? Pick products that earn their place and take less room in your makeup bag!
Clever Compact
My makeup compact is cleverly designed to hold all my essentials and colours.
It’s magnetic and refillable so that each compact can be customised with a combination of eye shadows, blusher, highlighters and a cream blusher/lip gloss – all in shades that suit your colouring type.
It’s amazingly practical and something which I use at home and travelling. The cream blush and lip tint and highlighter is something I have in mine, alongside eyeshadows in different shades.
My clients love the concept too, as we can design a compact with colours that suit you. And, when you use each product, you simply replace that one item with another refillable piece!
That’s the beauty of having your colours analysed – you’ll understand what works on you, and more importantly, what doesn’t. Be that clothes, makeup or accessories. It makes getting dressed and putting your makeup on so easy! And the best bit…there’s no waste because everything in the compact is not only perfect for you, but you simply replace what you use!
My Holiday Makeup Essentials
Here’s what’s on my must-pack list:
- Tinted moisturiser (light-medium)
- Coloured Primer/corrector (mint green)
- Concealer
- Cream blush/lip (crushed berry – inside the compact of course!)
- Mascara (navy)
- Brow pencil (blonde)
In the summer, I switch from the morning light foundation to a tinted moisturiser as I need less coverage and tend to wear less makeup in the heat.
The mint primer is my only ‘just in case’ item I pack, as it’s brilliant at neutralising any redness to my skin. I’ll also pack a concealer for my dark circles. Alongside a selection of eyeshadows in the compact, will be the cream blush which I apply to my lips and cheeks for a hint of colour.
I won’t go anywhere without my navy mascara and eyebrow pencil and I’ll probably pack an eye liner too – aubergine or granite tend to be my faves.
Your colours
One of the fun parts of my full colour analysis consultations is being able to recommend makeup shades that truly suits your colouring. Most people aren’t expecting a simple but natural makeup application during their colour analysis! Knowing your colours and what suits you, isn’t just saved for your clothes – your accessories and your makeup works too! After all, if you can wear it on your body, you can wear it on your face!
During an appointment, I’ll show the Refillable Compact and customise it to you and your colouring so you get to experiment with different products and colours – especially if you’re stuck in the same old makeup routine!
